When do bookings open?Bookings will open late on New Year's Day - 1st January 2024. Synthesis Showcase and Sunday Bazaar bookings will be open from late January.
-
How many people are in each workshop? The number varies depending on the teacher, type of workshop and the space of the room. We have limited spaces to an appropriate covid-safe number in each event/workshop.
-
Can I perform?Performances at this year’s Showcase are strictly by invitation only. You can apply to perform at the Sunday Bazaar for solo and troupes on the Sunday Bazaar page. Even if you apply, you are not guaranteed to get a performance opportunity during the weekend, and we expect demand for performances to be high. We cannot guarantee any performance slots regardless of how far you travel or how many workshops you book. Shows are lightly curated and we will have as many performers as we are able to. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause. We prefer that all performers support the weekend by attending at least one event/workshop. Workshops must be booked prior to applying for a performance slot (a minimum of one workshop). Those without a workshop booking will only be considered if we have performance slots available.

What happens if I test positive for Covid-19 before the event? Can I get a refund?Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund if you test positive for Covid-19 or any other illness, before coming to the event. You are strongly advised to take out appropriate travel insurance for your trip, which can include Covid cover. If you are unable to attend, your tickets are all transferrable. Just forward your e-tickets to your chosen recipient and email our team with the change of ticket holder name so we can update on our records. This is in line with our terms and conditions that we cannot offer refunds for illness, travel delays and cancellations, visa refusals, acts of god, weather and anything else that is out of our control. We can only offer refunds in the event of the cancellation of the event. We will always follow the guidelines in relation to Covid set out by the Australian Government at the time of the event.
-
What Covid measures do you have in place? We will provide hand sanitiser for use by participants at each studio room. You are welcome to wear a face mask during classes if this makes you feel safe, but we will not be enforcing their use during any part of the weekend unless there is a mask mandate. Please respect other people’s decisions to wear a face mask, or not, regardless of your personal beliefs about their use.
-
Will there be merchandise at the event?Merchandise can be bought in advance from our Spreadshirt store: https://synthesisbellydance.myspreadshop.com.au/ We may have a small amount of merch available at the information desk over the weekend. It is likely some teachers will also have merchandise available.
-
Can I take a photo with the teachers?Photos are at the discretion of the teacher. Please respect their decision if they decline. There will be group photos taken for those who are happy to do so and our crew will be out and about taking photos throughout the weekend. If you do not wish to be photographed, please speak to the crew and get your red dot sticker (a visual aid so we know not to get you in our shots)
-
Will there be food there? We are proud to partner with Shimmy Mob who are kindly running the Shimmy Mob Cafe during the course of the event. They will be on site with various food and drinks throughout the weekend.
